Manchester United win a hatrick of EPL titles

English powerhouse Manchester United once again emerged on the top of the English Premier League for the third time in a row. It was their 11^th Premier League title and 18^th overall. This title meant Manchester United have now joined Liverpool who were sitting on the top with 18 titles. It was a strange season for the Champions as they got off to an indifferent start dropping points at the very start and that allowed Liverpool to break away and open up a sizable lead. And the revival of United started after the defeat to Arsenal. The defense of the Red Devils started this with a string of clean sheets and they ended up winning all those matches and went ahead of Liverpool. In that period they had also another title to their cabinet when they returned from Japan with the FIFA Club World cup trophy. And after that they opened up a comfortable lead only to slip up and offer a life line to the chasing pack. But they improved their form and never let the lead slip and wrapped up the title in the penultimate week in front of their home crowd.
